Our Story
We’re Ethan and Maggy. We met years ago in a green bean patch on an organic CSA farm in Wisconsin. Since then, we’ve been focused on growing our food, farm and family in the beautiful Ozark mountains of Marshall, Arkansas. With over 12 years of farming experience behind him, Head Grower Ethan was granted one of the first licenses to grow industrial hemp with the Arkansas State Plant Board Hemp Research Pilot Program in 2019. We are stoked to be stewards of this historical crop that has so much potential for our society.
Our farm is the only licensed hemp farm in the Buffalo River region and is committed to regenerative, environmentally-focused growing practices that ensure the health of the community— from the people who enjoy the finished products, down to the microbes in the soil that grows them. Off the farm you can find us hiking the trails of Barkshed and Richland and floating the waterways of the Buffalo. We want our son to grow up enjoying these natural gems right in our backyard, too. That’s why our sustainable farming methods are so important to us.
Our products
We believe that health and healing is most supported with the highest quality products. Production Manager Maggy crafts Fractal Branch products using natural, pure ingredients and simple methods to extract the best compounds from the hand-tended hemp. Our product design and offerings are basic and flexible. This way you don’t get overwhelmed with choices or fill your medicine cabinet with single-use items. We operate on a small scale so that we never lose sight of these priorities.
We work with local retailers to reach our local community. It’s so important to us to support our neighbors and friends in their healing with salves and tinctures that really work- not mass produced oils from untraced sources at the gas station.
What is CBD?
Hemp and Health
Cannabis plants contain dozens of natural compounds called cannabinoids, including CBD, CBG, and THC. Our products are derived from the hemp plant, a cousin of the marijuana plant, both of which are variations of Cannabis. In industrial hemp, the quantity of THC—the psychoactive agent that makes you feel “high”—is virtually none (legally <0.3%). The remaining compounds offer a variety of promising health uses, without the side effects of marijuana. We offer single origin, full spectrum extracts so that all of the plant’s beneficial bits are available to you.
People use high-CBD products to help with:
Epilepsy
Neurological issues
Slowing cancer spread
Inflammation
Substance abuse
Pet health
Chronic pain
Anxiety
Muscle aches
Acne
Nausea
Skin disorders
Quitting smoking
